Before the porch lights go dark on Venable Street, the Hollis family bakery has already boxed two hundred biscuits for the Saturday shelter run — a quiet ritual now in its ninth year.
400 FT — FIRST LIGHT
First light, first fruits.
The Stone Mountain farmers market opens with a blessing and closes with empty tables — whatever doesn't sell rides home in the trucks of neighbors who need it most.
750 FT — THE CLIMB
A village shows its colors.
When fire took the Chens' shop on Main Street last spring, three congregations and forty strangers rebuilt it in nine weekends. The ribbon they cut was sewn by the quilting circle next door.
